Since beginning her career in 1979, she has guided clients through flourishing, challenging and changing markets. Her experience includes residential sales, condominiums, single-family homes, luxury properties, seasonal residences, relocation and real estate transitions for adults 55+.
Susan understands that buying or selling a home often occurs during an important period of change. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Susan moved to San Diego in the early 1980s and continued building her real estate career there. She is a graduate of the Institute for Mediation and Negotiation at Pepperdine University and earned her California Real Estate Broker’s license in 1995. She has called the Greater Palm Springs area home since 2011 and brings both extensive industry experience and local market knowledge to her Coachella Valley practice.
Susan’s commitment to the real estate profession is also reflected in her record of leadership. She served as President of the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® in 2002 and as President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® from 1997 through 1998. She has served as a California Association of REALTORS® State Director since 1997, contributing to and chairing key committees. Susan served as the 2024 President of the California Desert Association of REALTORS® and currently serves as an Assistant Regional Chair for the California Association of REALTORS®.
In 2015, Susan and business partner Andi Mallen co-founded Mallen & Marshall Desert Properties. The team has frequently ranked among the top-producing teams at the Keller Williams Realty La Quinta Market Center. Together, they serve Coachella Valley buyers and sellers, with a particular focus on helping adults 55+ and their families navigate downsizing, relocation, the sale of a longtime home and other significant real estate transitions.
